Shanbar: a band of silk or Crepe, black or dark red in colour, about seven cubits long, with silk fringe at the ends. The woman wraps it around her head twice, one side of silk fringe hangs forward and the other back. In Algeria, it is called (shambir). Among the Bedouins (shanbir) refers to a white band worn like a turban hanging on the neck and shoulders.
