Post millennium stylised version (thawb_wa_kandurah) of two-part ensemble (thawb) and kandurah, deliberately modified by the designer to present her contemporary take inspired by the traditional. Here the traditional left side neckline slit (halj) or opening is substituted by the traditional neckline shape generally reserved for the overgarment (thawb).
The metallic dusty pink silk tunic (kandurah) is machine stitched and embroidered (khwar) in gold and silver metallic thread (zari). Prosopis leaf motifs representing ‘The year of Tolerance – 2019’ official logo, in metallic gold are scattered on metallic silver ground outlining the traditional neckline (bidhah) shape. The same is repeated on the sleeve cuffs (swarah) or (hyul).
