THE ZAY INITIATIVE X AL SHINDAGHA EXHIBITION
IN COLLABORATION WITH DUBAI CULTURE
A selection of items from The Zay Collection were on a three-year loan exhibited at The Beauty and Adornment House at Al Shindagha Museum on Dubai Creek (2020 – 2023).
In collaboration with Dubai Culture, this exhibition showcased 17 outfits and accessories that tell the story of the UAE through dress and adornment. The items on display ranged from traditional Emirati clothing to the gold adorned facemask (burgu’ ryasi) among other precious adornments.
The museum was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on March 6, 2023. In his speech, the Sheikh praised all stakeholders for their work in preserving and promoting the UAE’s cultural heritage
The Beauty and Adornment exhibition was a popular attraction, drawing visitors from all over the world. It was a testament to the Zay Initiative’s success in bringing the UAE’s rich history to life.
The exhibition also featured a number of interactive elements, where visitors could have immersive experiences or watch a short film about the topic.
