Talli_garn_al_‘ijil

Tallī_garn_al_‘ijil: (Arabic: qarn: horn, al ‘ījīl: calf), a direct reference to a specific pattern used in traditional tallī making in UAE, a variant double line of the (ghūlī) design resembling calf horns. It requires 16 spools (dhahārī) of thread, 1 metallic straw (khūṣah), and 10 hours of work to obtain a meter-long cord. In many Arab dialects, the (qaf) is pronounced (ga).
