Tallis: (Pl. talalis; in Latin: trillicium, in Italian: traliccio, in Spanish: treliz, in French: treillis, in Coptic: Talis and talisa), a type of fabric made from many materials, such as hemp, hard linen, wool, goat hair and wicker, from which bags, peasants’ and workers’ clothes, hermits and blacksmiths’ garments, and bed covers are made. Also refers to a thick multi-coloured rug.
