Gargūsh: (Arabic: qarqasha: to eat or munch loudly), in colloquial Arabic the term refers to hood-shaped women’s headdress of varied styles and sizes. Worn by tribal women in the Hijaz, Saudi Arabia, and parts of Yemen. The letter (qaf) turns to (gah) in colloquial dialect.
