Burnus: (Arabic, Pl. bar?nis), a long cap or hat, or a cloak-like garment with a hood. Usually made of a coarse woollen fabric, woven in a single piece, with a long funnel-shaped hat to cover the head. The hem and fringes are sometimes embroidered with silk. White (bar?nis) are usually worn in Algeria and Morocco during important events and by people with high positions. Beige and dark brown are also common colours.
