Aṭlas: (Arabic, English: satin weave), found in Aramaic with the same pronunciation, the naming may go back to its old colour (dusty to black), or Atlas Zaytoun (referring to the port city in China) one of three fundamental types of textile weaves alongside plain weave and twill weave. It is a glossy fabric produced by a weave where the warp threads are caught and looped by the weft at certain intervals.
